When you have thyroid cancer like me you need to be isolated from people during treatment to keep your loved ones safe from radiation. We’re now seeking to create a bus for thyroid cancer patients to stay in during their isolation.

From personal experience isolation is expensive and really difficult to arrange when you live in a house with children, animals, and other people. It becomes an even bigger challenge when you’re forced to take time off work for treatment and lose pay.

This will be my way to soften the financial and emotional blow for my fellow patients and survivors.

We’re creating mobile space for patients to reside in close to their home while they undergo radiation treatment. Being able to be near home, family, and their support systems makes treatment easier to manage. Each “unit” will be self contained, bed, kitchenette, TV and entertainment system, heating and cooling, as well as bathroom and shower facilities on board. We’d like to start with two of these units and expand from there. These would be a god send to many in the thyroid cancer community. Please dig deep, donate as little or as much as you can. If you’re local we’ll need man power once we’re funded, if you can manage to donate time, materials, electronics, solar power kits or systems, bedding, personal care items for our skoolies once they’re in use please don’t hesitate to contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss what you have to share.
