Special Olympics has always distinguished itself among humanitarian organizations by empowering those with intellectual disabilities. It creates an environment where everyone is accepted and can succeed at their goals through the power of sports. These programs allow the athletes to build character and skills that follow them out into the world, helping them to succeed in many aspects of life.
My goal of $25,000 will sponsor a regional competition for the Special Olympics of Southern California. Included in this cost is equipment, training, transportation, facilities, and much more. While this may seem costly, the memories and impact of the experience are priceless to each athlete and their families and friends.
