On the evening of 6/15/17 our little Lulu, an 11-year-old, 5-pound, Yorkshire Terrier, was attacked TWICE by my landlord’s German Shepherd. She sustained both external and internal injuries and has undergone surgery to repair damage to her pancreas, liver, and more. Lulu remained in the veterinary hospital until Wednesday, June 21st when we brought her home.
Lulu requires constant care, feedings up to 4 times per day, administering medications, making sure her incision/stitches stay intact and that she doesn’t disrupt the healing of her 6 broken ribs by jumping and/or climbing on furniture. There may be other issues relating to her injuries that could pop up down the road, we were told. Then there are the follow-up visits to remove sutures and to make sure she is healing properly.
I adopted Lulu when she was 3 years old and she has been my faithful companion for over 8 years. Her love for us has always been consistent wanting only cuddles and belly rubs in return. She means the world to us and is loved by everyone who meets her. She is a little dog with a big personality and well known in our Brooklyn neighborhood. Lulu is family and when a family member is in need, you do whatever is necessary. This is necessary.
I wish that I didn’t have to ask for assistance but does anyone really have over $9,000 just hanging around? I know I don’t, so I am here asking for your help. Your donations will go towards her hospital & medical bills, medications, and aftercare. I can not express what your generosity means to us; we will be forever grateful. No donation is too small and sharing is definitely appreciated.
