Louella Scott Memorial Fund GoFundME CrowdFunding Campaign Booster

My name is Gregory Scott. On the 28th of October, 2018 my mother, Louella Fern Scott suffered a severe heart attack. She was rushed to the hospital, but passed away the very next day without ever regaining consciousness.
Louella Scott was a woman who worked all of her adult life until the age of 65 when she retired from the Stanislaus County Office of Education.

My mother passed away recently. The suddenness of her passing and the and the expenses of burial and arrangements have depleted the family’s resources.

The life insurance and retirement benefits that my mother put in place are taking too long to process and we are out of money.

We are already behind on some bills because of the expenses of my mother’s passing, and soon we may lose our home.

Please help us to get caught up on our bills so that we may stay in our home.

She cared deeply about her friends and family, and during her final years one of her biggest regrets was not being able to spend more time with the ones she loved.

My mother was my primary role model as a child. My father worked a lot and had interests outside of home when I was young, so that my mother was usually the one parent available to me. We grew to be very much alike and I loved and respected her above all others as I grew up. She taught me to love reading and learning, and helped me understand that a person can always learn something new.

I can remember that long before it was ever an issue, my mother wanted to make sure that things were taken care of should anything ever happen to her. She told me how she wanted me to handle her funeral arrangements and her final rest. My mother did not want there to be any confusion or misunderstanding. She knew that her passing could be an incredibly difficult time for me and wanted to do what she could to lessen the burden.

If this was a perfect world everything would have worked out the way she tried to plan it and there would be no problems. But we do not live in a perfect world and my mother’s plans for her passing have been disrupted. This is why I have begun this campaign.

Because of red-tape and paperwork my mother’s arrangements for her passing have been delayed to the point that extra expenses have been piled on. My mother was thoughtful enough to leave both a small life insurance policy to help pay for funeral costs and a beneficiary payment to me through her retirement fund. However, because of our financial system’s need for a death certificate before financial matters can be settled, several things have been kept from being taken care of. These matters are why I am asking for donations.

Because of the date of my mother’s death I was unable to access or close her bank account before several automated payments took place. These payments have significantly overdrawn her account. The life insurance company my mother went through still has not gotten the necessary paperwork to me almost two weeks after her passing. Also, the paperwork for my mother’s retirement benefits will take an additional 60 days to process. In short, everything my mother put in place to handle her final arrangements is being held up so that none of those monies are available when they are needed.

This is why I have opened this fund raising account. The monies gathered here will be used to pay for funeral and memorial expenses, pay bills, and settle my mother’s financial affairs. I truly wish this was not necessary. However, with the failure of our financial systems to respond in a quick and humanitarian manner, I have no other choice. My mother’s efforts to ease this burden are being prevented by the very institutions she trusted.

Please help to see that Louella Fern Scott’s final arrangements can be completed.
