Kingsley’s Prosthetic Limb Fund

On 18 October 2017, Kingsley, a 32-year-old Nigerian was hit by a stray bullet from two police officers engaging in a fight. He was at a supermarket to purchase a snack with his wife just five week after his wedding when this sad event occurred.

Kingsley’s family took him to the hospital and spent all the funds at their disposal to save his leg, but it wasn’t possible. His left leg was amputated on October 27, 2017 (right from his mid-thigh). Kingsley life changed significantly. He and His wife have suspended their careers, and they do not have any other source of livelihood.

Presently, he owes the hospital in Nigeria about $2500 and has been asked to leave the hospital because he cannot pay his bills. His wound has yet to heal, and so he has to travel for over two hours in a public taxi to the hospital and back, three-time every week.

His family has contacted a post-amputation rehabilitation center in the United States that can provide Kingsley with post-amputation care including the production and fitting of a prosthetic limb. The total bill for the treatment not inclusive of his trip to and from the United States is about $40,000.

We require your assistance to get Kingsley back on his feet and to living his life in the best was possible.
Every dollar counts!
