My name is Nicholas I am a resident of Key West Florida. I have just spent the last 19 hours driving to evacuate to my family’s home in North Carolina because of hurricane Irma. Hurricane Irma hit the lower Florida keys as a Major Category 4 hurricane causing major damage. Most communications with Key West are currently down because of the storm damage so the full extent of the damage is not yet known but it is expected to be major.
I along with lots of other people that rent in key west where not able to get flood insurance to cover belongings from storm surge and flooding damage. I am asking for donations to help with the expenses for evacuation and rebuilding from the hurricane.
If I receive donations for more than my direct expenses I will use any funds to help other renters repair and rebuild their life in key west.
