In urgent need of a portable oxygen concentrator. Mona has end stage COPD. Recently she was hospitalized for nearly two weeks with carbon dioxide poisoning which exacerbated her COPD causing a portion of her lungs to die and now she must be on continuous oxygen. At home, she is attached to a very large oxygen concentrator. It is large, heavy and must be plugged up in order to work. It is in no way portable. She has a cylinder that she uses to go to the doctor and other places, but it is cumbersome and doesn’t last very long.
We are raising money to invest in a portable oxygen concentrator, which can deliver oxygen continuously without the constant burden of a tank. It is smaller and more convenient, lightweight and doesn’t need to be refilled. They are very expensive and her insurance will not pay for it. The only other option is to pay for it out of pocket, which is proving to be very costly.
This portable oxygen concentrator will be very useful and helpful on both Mona and her family. With this, at least we will be able to make her doctors appointments and other outings easier and more enjoyable. Any amount will help. Please help if you can! Thank you.
