Help me get medical care for Daniel who is suffering from this debilitating disease. As I sit here today, like so many days in the past I can no longer count, I watch my son Daniel suffer from tremendous pain, watch him slowly get worse before he gets better and like so many other days I wonder if ever he will be relieved of his suffering.
Sickle cell anemia is already a killer that so many are unfamiliar with and doesn’t get the attention it deserves. As if this wasn’t enough Daniel has found himself suffering from some atypical development of pain that no one can stop.
One day almost 4 years ago terrible pain came as if often did but this time it never left. Not one day has passed since that day that he hadn’t lived in horrible, incurable pain.
Despite taking him to many specialists, running countless tests and paying out of pocket expenses exceeding $20,000 to try treatments that are not covered by the insurance, we have no answers and no relief in sight.
As a single mom I have no more resources and no answers and everyday it gets worse. Affecting more of his body with each day that passes. He can’t go to school, can’t be a kid and can’t enjoy life.
We need help to travel to speciality clinics and seek assistance. His doctors have no answers and have given up on helping us. I am the only parent he has to depend on and I do not have anything left from my median wage job to get is the help we need.
Please help us.
