Hello, I’m Marc Cage. I hope that you will join me in supporting charities who are also supported by The Life You Can Save (LYCS) organization.
The goal of these charities are to combat extreme poverty, improve the lives and educational opportunities of women and girls in impoverished places such as Africa, India, The Middle East and Asia, and fight preventable illnesses such as malaria and parasitic infections.
Here are examples of several charities supported by LYCS:
1. Against Malaria Foundation (AMF): works to prevent the spread of malaria by distributing long-lasting, insecticide-treated mosquito nets to susceptible populations in developing countries
2. Development Media International (DMI): runs television and radio campaigns in developing regions to raise awareness for important health and wellness issues.
3. Fred Hollows Foundation (FHF): works to prevent and cure blindness and visual impairment among the extreme poor by training surgeons and other healthcare workers, funding treatments and surgeries, building and upgrading medical facilities, providing equipment, funding research and supporting advocacy
4. Fistula Foundation (FF): trains surgeons and funds operations to repair obstetric fistula, a devastating injury caused by difficult childbirth that renders the woman incontinent. Obstetric fistula affects the poorest women in the poorest parts of the developing world. More than 75 percent of women who suffer from fistula have endured labor that lasted three days or longer, usually with loss of the baby. Fistula can only be cured with surgery, and without proper treatment, women often find it difficult to reintegrate into their communities, including facing ostracism by their families.
The LYCS believes that one of the best ways to help people is to provide suggestions of charities that have demonstrated to impactful, cost-effective, and transparent. When one chooses to donate to one of their highly recommended charities, they can be sure that their donation will go to the people who need it most. LYCS provides concise analysis of these charities and links to additional resources donors can use to make informed giving decisions.
The money raised from this gofundme will be used to support over 15 charities supported by LYCS. As someone who would truly give their skin to help someone in need, the fact the donations are truly going to those in need (and it is not a total sham like other charities out their unfortunately) really resonates with me. I would be truly grateful if we could all make this gofundme a major success and I’m pretty sure those who have a conscious and care about helping those in need feel the same as well.
Let us all make this campaign a success so that we can help put an end to poverty and actual oppression in developing countries.
