Bullying is a major problem in schools and the research described below is designed to help educators meet the needs of all students.
This research will explore the effectiveness of a prescribed gaming intervention to assist pre-service teachers in gaining a deeper understanding of bullying.
Specifically, it will examine the effectiveness of using a low risk environment (video games) to help pre-service teachers develop safe effective strategies for decreasing bullying.
The success of an effective, low risk environment for developing anti-bullying competencies would have widespread implications for teacher education programs.

As a doctoral student interested in improving pre-service teacher education programs, I have discovered that bullying is often times a forgotten topic, or simply thrown into a classroom management course. I want to find a way to bring this vital issue to teacher education programs globally, in a manner that does not involve creating an overall course.
All funds raised during this campaign will be used for the research study including the purchasing of equipment (hardware/software) and funding subjects. Each item listed in the wishlist is listed only once, though two are need for the study. Any funds beyond the $2,500 will be used to support additional subjects.
Any size donation is helpful!
The reason subjects will be compensated is because the study takes 8-10 hours to complete over 4 days.
Updates regarding this study will be posted often.
The study is scheduled to start once the IRB is officially approved.
Please ask questions if you have any!
