I have breast cancer I have so many bills I can’t keep them straight I have insurance with high deductibles I have payments on surgery done last year and now my out-of-pocket maximum reset to zero I have six weeks of intensive radiation which I’m starting this week my co-pay visits are $50 a day plus treatment I’m doing this five days a week for six weeks , my one prescription that I’m supposed to take for 10 years according to the pharmacy receipt is going to cost in excess of $500 every three months please help anything you give will be greatly appreciated
I am the unfortunate recipient of breast cancer.
I never thought in my wildest dreams I would ever be thinking of how to get funding for my disease. This comes as a complete shock to me I am a perfectly healthy person , I watch my weight, watch what I eat and keep every doctors appointment. I do my health screenings every year including mammograms. I have successfully helped 3 family members through cancer treatments start to finish including my husband who is just one year in remission as well as countless friends why me ??why now? ?? ??
This is an awful financial burden as anybody knows who has had cancer, my husband and I took out a sizable loan to cover all the treatments and medications and chemo that his insurance did not cover which is not paid off yet and we do not have one extra dime, no savings account after his cancer , someone suggested to me to try a
go-fund-me page… who would you asked to do that for you??? after waiting a week , I could not come up with anyone I would impose that on, so I decided to do it myself I have many family and friends that live out of town maybe everyone could share this and everyone could kindly donate anything they can .
Every donation is needed and appreciated very much .
I am already scheduled to have my second round of bloodwork a breast MRI with contrast and without, a chest x-Ray my visit with my oncologist, visit with my surgeon, visit with my radiology specialist, as well as trying to pre-register at the hospital while I am very capable of filling out all the paperwork I do not have the money for every step .
I have a $50 co-pay per specialist visit when I start my radiation treatments it will be $50 every time I walk in the office to receive treatment five days a week for 45 treatments (6 weeks total) and that’s just the start, I chose a high deductible to be able to afford the monthly premiums….
on hindsight that was probably a bad choice –
I have such a wonderful mortgage company ☹️ ☹️PNC – if you are late one day with the payment they will start foreclosure on your mortgage I have no equity that I can obtain and I cannot refinance on our current income level .
I know there are hundreds if not thousands of people in the same situation I am but I have always helped everybody else , I rarely say no, I put everybody else first please put me first help me out and donate whatever you can .
In closing-if you have any other suggestions or any other links for funding sources could you please send me a iMessage and share that with me I am on the phone at least five hours a day now scheduling trying to access funding I have always been an advocate for everybody else, it’s hard being the patient and the advocate . God willing I will get through this
