Although I cannot attest to remembering all of my dreams vividly the following day, about a month ago, I awakened from a dream of living and working in Japan. In my dream, I was surrounded by neon lights, typical of lower Manhattan or Tokyo, and experienced a new lease
on life. What made this dream even more exciting was that I was profoundly happy and content with life.
A few weeks later, a random person mentioned to me her excitement about taking a solo-trip to Japan in the spring. I took this as a sign that my next venture in life should start in the land of the rising sun. So, I started searching online. Oddly enough, within a few days of beginning my search for opportunities, I was walking down the street and a man was selling, in his own words, “I-phone replicas.” He was wearing a very nice jacket with Japan written across it.
What makes this even more exciting is that I have a decade of teaching experience and I have also learned additional languages beyond English. I can relate to the inevitable highs and lows that come with language acquisition and the upheaval of culture shock in professional settings. I am a well-rounded and compassionate professional who can relate to students in their pursuit of advancement of language proficiency.
It would be an honor and privilege to allow a divine intersection of dreams and realities to converge and provide me the opportunity to teach abroad.
I am in need of funds for the following to make it to Japan to teach:
-Passport Fee
-Visa Processing Fees
-Airfare from Los Angeles to Tokyo
-Suitcases/Luggage
-Initial Deposit on Tokyo Apartment
-Japanese Cellphone
